Welcome to the Cafe of Life!
At the Café of Life you’ll notice many unique features such as the vibrant atmosphere, the focus on turning on life rather than on fighting disease, the reservation system, and the payment box. I would also like to introduce you to some unique terminology. Congratulations on making the Café of Life choice!
People, not “patients”
A “patient” is defined as “one who is sick with, or being treated for, an illness or injury” or “an individual receiving medical care”. The term implies that the person is sick and that the chiropractor will provide treatment to make him or her well. “People” who come here are ready to participate in their healing process, reclaim their power, and be responsible for their own growth and evolution and health. “Patients” want to be “fixed” and returned to the place they were before the onset of symptoms. “People” find this place no longer acceptable.
Practice, not “clinic”
This is a place of joyful expression of the body’s innate intelligence resulting from the release and correction of tension/nerve interference/subluxation.
Healing, not “treatment”
Healing involves the harmonious alignment of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of our being and how we relate to the world. The result is a greater experience of wholeness, wellness, and soundness. Healing comes from the word “whole”, which implies much more than freedom from disease. Wholeness implies self-empowerment, alignment, and integration, which enables us to fully express our unique potential as human beings in all aspects of life.
Reservation, not “appointment”
“Appointment” implies a time to hand oneself over to be fixed. “Reservation” allows you to fully participate in the experience of your healing.
Adjustment, not “fixing, popping, or cracking”
The chiropractic adjustment is the process of applying a gentle, specific force with the intention of correcting interference to the flow of your life force. Chiropractic adjustments release tension from the spine and nerve system and free your life force allowing maximum life expression.
Subluxation, not “something’s out, slipped, pinched, or stuck”
“Subluxation” means interference to the delicate communication between our nerve system and our body, caused by physical, mental, emotional or spiritual stress, tension and resistance.
